Summit Learning in YOUR School: 2021-2022 Application has Launched!

The application to partner with Summit Learning in the 2021-2022 school year is now open!

We’re excited about our mission to change the face of education in partnership with schools across the country. From public schools in Idaho to charter schools in Washington, D.C., our program empowers educators and students, ultimately fostering a lifelong love of learning for students.

We focus on student engagement, meaningful learning, and strong relationships. Created by educators for educators, the strength of Summit Learning is our continuous work to combine the real-life experiences of teachers in thousands of classrooms across the country with the findings of nationally-acclaimed learning scientists. The result is an informed and dynamic classroom approach.

Partnership with Summit Learning includes comprehensive curriculum and assessment resources, professional development support, online tools to support data-driven instruction, and regular coaching from a School and District Success Manager on our team. “As a teacher, Summit Learning has allowed me to help every student reach their full potential,” said Jami McLing, a Summit Learning teacher and parent from Rocky Mountain Middle School in Idaho. “As a mom, it has given my daughters the confidence and knowledge that they can succeed at anything.”

Within the Summit Learning model, teachers support students in developing lifelong skills through hands-on projects, in which students often collaborate with a team, interpret data, and present persuasive arguments. Melissa McCalla, Program Coordinator for the Connect Personalized Learning Initiative in the Pasadena Independent School District in Texas, said that the value of the Summit Learning program is seen in “the increase we’ve seen in engagement and kids’ ability to be able to talk about their learning in a different way.”

Teachers also empower students to set goals and self-direct some of their learning. In addition, teachers serve as mentors, providing one-on-one support through weekly meetings. As one parent from Royal Spring Middle School in Kentucky shared, “More than just becoming a stronger student, my son has learned to not give up. He’s motivated to keep trying and to find ways to be successful. As a parent, I know how valuable these skills are going to be for him in high school, through college, and beyond. I’m watching my son learn how to be a lifetime learner, and I am thrilled.”

If this sounds like the kind of teaching and learning you’re hoping to see in your school, consider applying to partner with us in the coming year. To learn more about the application timeline and process, click here.
