Case Study: Carter Lomax Middle School

This case study, conducted by independent research firm Magnolia Consulting, summarizes the results of a 40-educator survey and 10 in-depth interviews with teachers at Carter Lomax Middle School in Pasadena, Texas. Participants share their appreciation for the mentoring, curriculum, and easy-to-navigate technology provided by the program: 95 percent indicated that Summit Learning was positively impacting academic performance and student confidence.

“Mentoring provides an outlet,” said one participant. “It gives them a safe person to talk to. It helps build their confidence.”

In addition, participants expressed satisfaction with the program’s impact on community engagement. Seventy-four percent of educators say that families and caregivers have more insight into their students’ learning since they started using the program, and 58 percent say that these adults have been more involved in the school community.
